Philadelphia is host to a number of great hacking, security, privacy, and user groups. Here is a list of some of our favorites.

Meetups
- Philly 2600 - You are here. Philly’s oldest hacker meetup. Very casual with no set agenda, basically a hangout where occasionally people bring things to hack on or show off. Meets every first Friday.
- DC 215 - Philly’s DEF CON group. Meetups usually consist of a presentation. Meets (usually) every first Wednesday.
- OWASP Philadelphia - Local chapter of the Open Worldwide Application Security Project. Different presentation every meeting. Meets every fourth Tuesday.
- PhillySec - Meets every second Wednesday.
- PLUG - The Philadelphia area Linux User Group, meetups every first Wednesday, second Tuesday, and third Monday.

- PhilTel - A telephone collective aiming to install free-to-use payphones.
- TOOOL Philadelphia - Philly’s chapter of The Open Organisation Of Lockpickers.
- Philly Community Wireless - Building community-controlled networks in Philadelphia.
- Networks of Philly - Documenting network infrastructure in Philly.
- Philly Mesh - Cypherpunk mesh networking.
Places
- Iffy Books - A bookstore at 404 S 20th St, offering a small selection of books, zines, an workshops on hacking, free culture, gardening, and adjacent topics. Iffy Books often hosts interesting events and meetups!
- Ex Machina Parlor (formerly Trashpanda Village, SecShell) - A hackerspace at 319 N. 11th St. Room 501, aimed at those interested in cyber security.
- Hive 76 - A makerspace devoted to all sorts of maker endeavors.

- JawnCon - JawnCon is an event that celebrates the evolution of security and technology in our lives. Lot’s of different topics and a cool hangout room with retro tech.
- BSides Philadelphia - Philly chapter of BSides conference.
- BSides Delaware - Delaware chapter of BSides conference.
- FOSSCON - Free and open-source software conference, usually held at Penn.
- Pumpcon - One of the nations oldest hacker conferences. It’s small, intimate, and takes places in a speakeasy dungeon.
- RaicesCon - This event seeks to bring together Hispanic and Latino’s and their allies in cybersecurity across academia, research, government, and industry.
- BarCamp Philly - An unconference with no set schedule. Attendees submit talk ideas in the morning and a schedule is created on the spot. Anyone can give a talk or attend one!
